What's In Kaiden's Kitchen?

My photo
Kaiden's mommy :)

I'm a 21 year old aspiring cook show host. My son is 6 months old, so of course he owns the house and tells me when I'm allowed to cook, so what better name for my blog then Kaiden's Kitchen? I love to cook, mostly from scratch, just making things up as I go. I plan to attend culinary school in the near future. Hope you think my food is yummy :)

Slow Roast Pork

This is currently cooking in the oven, don't know how it's going to turn out but this is what I did.

Preheat the oven to 400 Degrees Fahrenheit

In a small pot take one cup sugar half a cup of water over medium heat add half cup honey and half a cup of maple syrup until it's all melted

On the roast sprinkle the roast with Worcestershire sauce on all sides and let it soak in, and then pour the melted sugar mixture onto.

Next add to the pan some apple cider about a cup and about 1/3 a cup of apple cider vinegar.

Put it in the oven and immediately turn it down to 200 Degrees and let it roast for 5 hours without interruption, take it out and if it pulls apart it's done, if not stick it back in the oven in variables of 30 min until it's done.

Yummy Cereal Treats

This was a spur of the moment; we need something sweet; what's in the cupboard type of deal.

What did I come up with?

Using a couple remnant boxes of stale cereal, half a bag of marshmallows, a half of can of sweetened condensed milk, and butter I created my spin on rice crispy treats.

I melted half a stick of butter in a large pot and poured in the condensed milk and let it come to a gooey bubble. Then I added the marshmallows and let it all melt down. Lastly I added the cereal and mixed it all together and stuffed in it a greased pan to sit.

I used Rice Chex and HoneyKix J

Chicken, Spinach & Parmesan Pasta

It was so good I didn't even get a chance to take a picture, but here's the recipe.

Start by boiling the water for half a box of pasta, I used shells but you could use whatever pasta you like best.

In a separate pan I sautéed 2 chicken breasts seasoned with a little salt and fresh ground black pepper. I microwave one box of frozen spinach until thawed. After the pasta was finished I drained the pasta and set it to the side. In the bottom of the pasta pot I started a rue with melted butter and flour, I added and let it thicken and then added about 2 cups Parmesan cheese a handful of garlic powder and parsley and let it all thicken up. I added in the spinach pasta and when the chicken finished I chopped it into chunks and tossed it all together.

It was quick easy taste delicious and cost roughly about 5 dollars for 4 servings.
